How We Create

Created with AI.
Shaped with care.

Silvergrass Records uses generative tools to create music, voices and visual material for fictional artists. The artists are fictional. The creative responsibility is not.

The human foundation

We begin with
the artist.

We do not generate random songs and attach a face afterwards.

Before a release is created, we define the artist’s background, personality, values and relationship with the audience. The subjects they sing about are found and selected by people.

The music is built on real experiences, everyday problems, quiet thoughts and personal conclusions.

Technology helps us build the work. It does not decide what the work should mean.

The process

01

The Words

Lyrics are developed through close collaboration between a human creator and AI language models. The tools act as sparring partners, helping to structure ideas, develop drafts and test rhymes.

Every final lyric is selected, rewritten and edited by a person. It must fit the artist’s voice, humour, values and history.

02

The Music

Music and vocals are produced using Suno. A song is not made by entering one prompt and accepting the first result.

We plan the structure, shape the verses, choruses and bridges, choose the instrumentation and refine the vocal direction. Each release must sound recognisable as the same artist over time.

03

The Visuals

Still images and moving material are created with different generative tools. Each artist has clear visual references for facial features, age, clothing, colour and physical setting.

Those references help every image feel like part of one connected world, while keeping the artist distinct from any real person.

Creative direction

The art of rejection

Generative AI produces material quickly. Our most important job is deciding what does not belong.

Lines are rewritten when they do not sound like the artist. Jokes are removed when they feel cruel. Details are changed when they break an established history. Images are rejected when the face, body or setting no longer belongs to the artist’s world.

The human creator directs the process, rejects unsuitable material and takes responsibility for everything Silvergrass releases.

Clear with the audience

Fiction should never depend on confusion.

Our artists are fictional and our use of AI is visible. We do not present invented concerts, press coverage or personal history as documented events.

Before anything is released, we ask:

  1. Does it fit the artist?
  2. Does it fit Silvergrass Records?
  3. Is it clear and honest with the audience?
